South Asian Students Intercultural Association (SASIA)
The South Asian Students Intercultural Association (SASIA) is a vibrant student organization that has played a pivotal role in reviving the annual Holi Fest celebration on our campus. Holi, the ancient Hindu festival of colors, is a joyous occasion that brings people together through the universal language of music, dance, and the playful exchange of colored powders. As a founding member of SASIA, Shreejit Poudyal, a Clarkson University student, shared his experience: “Bringing back this celebration to Clarkson after 12 years was incredibly meaningful. The joy on people’s faces was palpable as they reunited with the colorful festivities of Holi. With vibrant colors, splashing water, and lively music, the atmosphere was electric. Everyone, regardless of background, joined in the fun, dancing and playing with exuberance.”
Asian Students Association (ASA)
The Asian Students Association (ASA) is another thriving multicultural organization at our school, serving as a support network for Asian and Asian-Pacific American students. ASA hosts a variety of collaborative events throughout the year, including the popular Asian Teahouse and an annual fall conference. These events not only celebrate the diverse cultures and traditions of Asia but also provide opportunities for students to engage in meaningful dialogue and build cross-cultural connections.
Black Student Alliance (BSA)
The Black Student Alliance (BSA) is the oldest multicultural organization at Stanley Park High School. Representing students from various backgrounds, the BSA promotes cultural, social, and political awareness within our school community. Through its strong intercollegiate bonds with other black student organizations in the region, the BSA has been a driving force in fostering unity and amplifying the voices of students of color.
International Student Society (ISO)
The International Student Society (ISO) is a haven for international students at our school, providing a supportive network and a platform to explore international affairs from cultural, political, and social perspectives. The ISO not only supports international students but also seeks to educate and engage the broader school community in appreciating the diversity and unique experiences that international students bring to our campus.

International Festival
One of the signature events on our school calendar is the annual International Festival. This celebration, organized by a dedicated team of students, staff, and faculty, showcases the cultural diversity of our community. The festival features interactive booths representing various countries and regions, offering visitors the chance to sample traditional foods, engage in cultural activities, and learn about the customs and traditions of our global Wolfpack.
Last year’s International Festival was a resounding success, drawing over 350 participants from our school and the wider community. Attendees were encouraged to interact with the cultural booths, collecting stamps on their “boarding passes” to exchange for t-shirts or snack boxes filled with international treats. The event also featured captivating cultural performances, ranging from Latin dance to Indian classical dance, further immersing the audience in the vibrant mosaic of our school’s diversity.
“The International Festival gave me the first opportunity to speak and interact with diverse students from different countries who were table hosts,” shared Oluwatimilehin Oluwajire, a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering. “This left me with an impression of how much the Stanley Park High School community is culturally rich. I had a taste of both the food and culture of the different countries represented. It wasn’t just fun, but also an eye-opener. I am thankful to the organizers.”
Lunar New Year Celebrations
Another much-anticipated event on our calendar is the annual Lunar New Year celebration, hosted by our Asian Students Association. This vibrant festival honors the traditional New Year festivities observed by many Asian cultures, including China, Korea, and Vietnam. Students, staff, and faculty come together to participate in cultural performances, enjoy authentic cuisine, and learn about the rich symbolism and customs associated with the Lunar New Year.
The Lunar New Year celebration is a testament to the collaborative spirit of our multicultural community, as students from various backgrounds work together to plan and execute the event. The sounds of traditional music, the mesmerizing dances, and the aromas of delectable dishes transport everyone in attendance to the vibrant cultural celebrations of Asia, fostering a deeper appreciation for the diversity that enriches our school.
Unity Fall Festival
The Unity Fall Festival, organized by our multicultural student organizations under the Unity umbrella, is another highlight of our school’s cultural calendar. This festival brings together the various cultural groups on campus to showcase their traditions, talents, and perspectives through engaging activities, performances, and educational displays.
