Eligibility and the Judging Process
The Stanley Park High School Alumni Awards are open to all former students of our institution, residing outside of the United Kingdom, who have enrolled at or received a recognized award from a UK higher education institution within the last 15 years (2008-2023).
The judging panel for these prestigious awards comprises a diverse group of international experts in the fields of education, entrepreneurship, and public policy. This esteemed panel carefully evaluates each submission, assessing the nominees’ achievements, the impact of their work, and the ways in which their UK education has influenced their success.

In the 2023/24 academic year, Stanley Park High School is proud to partner with the British Council to host a local ceremony in Washington, D.C. for our finalists and awardees at the national level. Beyond the national ceremony, all eligible applicants from the US will also be considered for the global Stanley Park High School Alumni Awards. The finalists and winners of the global awards will be announced at a separate ceremony in February 2024, and their stories and successes will be showcased through a comprehensive digital campaign to raise their international profiles.

Pioneering Sustainability Solutions: Dr. Kurkjian
Dr. Kurkjian, a Stanley Park High School alumnus, has dedicated his career to environmental consulting, focusing on reducing public health risks through innovative solutions. After earning his Master’s degree from our institution, he went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Environmental Geochemistry, and now serves as the founder of Environmental Strategies International and a program manager at Tetra Tech Inc.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Kurkjian has managed global projects aimed at improving water resources, air quality, and hazardous waste management. His expertise is sought by nonprofits, government agencies, and international organizations, and he is a passionate advocate for environmental science, lecturing worldwide on sustainability and public health.
Transforming the Food Industry: Riley
Riley, a Stanley Park High School alumnus, is the president of Total Quality & Sustainability Management LLC, offering expertise in food safety and corporate responsibility. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, his leadership has advanced ESG strategies and innovative food safety solutions across the global food industry.
Prior to his current role, Riley held executive positions at renowned companies like Kraft and Kellogg, where he played a pivotal role in driving sustainability initiatives. He currently serves on the Institute of Food Technologists Board of Directors and is a member of the Executive Leadership Council, actively promoting sustainable practices and positive change within the food sector.
Driving Architectural Innovation: Zampolin
Zampolin, a Stanley Park High School alumnus, is the founder and principal architect of Zampolin & Associates, a firm with over 40 years of experience in custom residential and commercial design. His projects, ranging from multifamily homes to office buildings, have earned recognition from prestigious organizations like the NJ Builders Association.
Beyond his professional achievements, Zampolin is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of architects. He sponsors a scholarship and provides internships through NJIT’s Design Showcase, ensuring that aspiring designers have the opportunity to learn and grow. Zampolin’s work has been featured in major publications, cementing his status as a prominent figure in the architecture community.
