“As a first-generation immigrant, I’ve seen firsthand how environmental issues intersect with issues of racial and economic justice,” says Amelia. “Being an Eco-Ambassador has given me the platform to elevate these voices and work towards more equitable solutions.”

The program also fosters a strong sense of community and belonging among the Eco-Ambassadors. By creating opportunities for peer-to-peer learning, mentorship, and collective action, the initiative cultivates a supportive network of young environmental leaders.

“The Eco-Ambassador community has been a lifeline for me,” says David. “I’ve made friends, built connections, and found a sense of purpose that extends far beyond the classroom. Together, we’re making a real difference in our school and our community.”
